The Act provides a framework for different provisions related to cooperatives at a Federal level. The purpose of the CCA at the federal level is stated to be: “to set out the law applicable to the business endeavours of persons who have associated themselves in a democratic manner to carry on a common purpose; and to advance the cause of uniformity of cooperative business law in Canada"
