USAID Administrator Samantha Power unveiled a transformative initiative aimed at supporting vulnerable cooperatives and entrepreneurs in Morocco's rural areas to adapt to climate change and strengthen economic resilience.

The Cooperative Resilience Program (CRP), announced during Power's visit to the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University, will provide crucial training, coaching, and climate financing to empower local cooperatives and entrepreneurs against climate shocks and water scarcity.

The program will allocate grants ranging from $3,000 to $9,000 to over 1,000 cooperatives and entrepreneurs. These funds will facilitate investments in essential equipment, raw materials, and improved techniques, bolstering their capacity to thrive amidst environmental challenges.

Power also met with Moroccan officials, including Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita, reaffirming U.S. support for Morocco's governance reforms, educational advancements, and sustainable development initiatives.
