Allahabad High Court Ends Discrimination Against Married Daughters in Cooperative Compassionate Appointments

The Allahabad High Court has overturned the order issued by the Secretary of the Uttar Pradesh Cooperative Institutional Services Board in Lucknow, which rejected the petitioner's claim for appointment under the Dying in Harness Rules. The court observed that excluding daughters from compassionate appointments solely based on their marital status is a form of impermissible discrimination and a violation of Articles 14 and 15.
